What a Changing Lanes certificate is
A Changing Lanes certificate records that you completed the Changing Lanes training programme: every required lesson and assessment was completed and your attendance met the course requirement, confirmed by a member of staff. It is issued only after staff have checked these requirements; the platform prepares a draft but a person issues it.
What it is not
It is not a licence. It does not replace a DVLA driving licence, a Driver CPC card (Driver Qualification Card) or an awarding-body qualification, and it is not a regulated qualification. Employers must check a driver's licence, Driver CPC and right to work themselves.
Verifying a certificate
Each certificate has a unique number (CLC-YYYY-XXXXXXXX) and a QR code that opens a verification page on this website. Anyone can also verify manually at /verify using the certificate number and the holder's surname. Look-ups are limited to prevent misuse and are logged without personal data.
What verification shows
For a valid certificate: the holder's name, the certificate number, the programme title and version, the dates, the result, the issue date, the modules and the statement that the certificate is not a licence. For a suspended, revoked or expired certificate: only its status and number. It never shows date of birth, address, contact details, health, funding or internal information.
Suspension and revocation
We may suspend or revoke a certificate — with a written reason, recorded in its history — if it was issued in error, if evidence was false, or after a malpractice finding. The holder is told and can appeal under the Assessment appeals policy.
Use of verification
Verification is provided free of charge for checking a certificate presented to you. You must not use it to collect information in bulk or for any other purpose. We provide the service with reasonable care but, beyond the information shown, we accept no responsibility for hiring decisions made using it.
