Using these terms

These terms apply to everyone who uses this website, including the public pages, the learner portal, the employer portal and the certificate verification service. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Other documents also apply depending on what you do:

How we use personal information is explained in our Privacy notice and Cookie policy.

What the information on this site means

Information on this site describes our training and employment services. We work to keep it accurate, but it is general information, not advice for your circumstances.

  • Course dates, prices and routes are confirmed only in writing — in an offer, a quote or your learner agreement.
  • Funding. Nothing on this site is a promise of a funded place. Skills Bootcamps are an England programme procured locally, and funded places are advertised only where we hold, or operate under, an approved funding contract or subcontract. Eligibility is assessed individually and the funding body decides. We do not claim any funding approval we do not hold: [to be confirmed: funding contract or subcontract (funding body, lead provider and contract reference)].
  • Certificates. A Changing Lanes certificate records completion of our programme. It is not a driving licence, a Driver CPC card or an awarding-body qualification, and it does not replace any of them.
  • Vacancies are placed by employers and checked by us before publication. The employer, not Changing Lanes, decides who to hire.
  • Accreditations. We do not claim any accreditation, approval or membership unless it is listed here: [to be confirmed: accreditations and memberships held (for example Ofsted registration, JAUPT centre approval, REC membership)].

Your account

Some parts of the site need an account. You must give accurate information, keep your sign-in details secret, and tell us straight away at [to be confirmed: security contact email address] if you think someone else has used your account. Staff accounts must use multi-factor authentication. We may suspend an account that is misused (see the Acceptable use policy), and we will tell you why unless the law or a safeguarding concern prevents it.

Intellectual property

The site, its design, text, course materials and software are owned by us or our licensors. You may view and print pages for your own use and share links to them. You may not copy course materials, question banks or assessments, scrape the site, or use our name or logo to suggest we endorse you, without our written permission.

We link to other sites (for example GOV.UK and DVSA) for your convenience. We are not responsible for their content. Card payments are taken on our payment provider's own page; its terms apply to the payment itself.

Availability and security

We aim to keep the site available but cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may suspend it for maintenance or security. We use reasonable measures to protect the site (see the Information security policy (summary)); you must not attempt to break or bypass them. If you find a security weakness, please follow our Vulnerability disclosure policy.

Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

  • If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected. We only provide the free public website for domestic and private use.
  • If you use the site for business, we are not liable for loss of profit, business, revenue or data, or for indirect loss, arising from use of the free public website. Our liability for business services is set out in the Employer terms of business.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version number, date and a summary of each change are shown below. If a change materially affects people with an account, we will ask them to accept the new version when they next sign in.

Complaints and law

If something goes wrong, please use our Complaints policy and procedure. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your home courts.
