Our approach

We only send marketing — news about courses, vacancies or our services — to people who have said yes, or, for staff of employers at a corporate address, where the law allows business-to-business marketing with an easy opt-out. Messages about your application, training, account, payments or a vacancy you applied to are service messages, not marketing, and you will still receive them.

  • Applicants and learners: the application form has an optional, unticked box for marketing. If you tick it, we record your consent with the date and the version of the wording.
  • Individuals who contact us: we only market to you if you ask us to and we record the evidence.
  • Employer contacts: we may email you at your work address about our recruitment and training services as a corporate subscriber, with an opt-out in every message. If you are a sole trader or partnership we treat you as an individual and ask for consent first.
  • No consent means no marketing. If we have no record, we do not market to you.
  • We do not currently use the "soft opt-in"; if we start, we will tell you first and give you a way to opt out at that point and in every message.
  • We never buy or rent contact lists, and we never send marketing by text message or push notification.

Unsubscribing

Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. It opens a page that asks you to confirm (so that email scanners cannot unsubscribe you by accident); once you confirm, we stop immediately and withdraw anything already queued. You can also email [to be confirmed: privacy and data protection email address]. An unsubscribe is kept permanently on a "do not contact" list so we never email you by mistake.

Safeguards on every campaign

Each campaign is checked by a second person before it is sent, contains only your first name and your unsubscribe link, is limited to two marketing emails per person per week, and is sent only between 08:00 and 20:00 UK time.

Records

We keep consent records and their history for seven years, and suppressions permanently, as evidence (Data retention schedule). Our lawful basis and your rights are in the Privacy notice.
