Who this applies to

This policy applies to everyone with a Changing Lanes account — learners, work-seekers, employer users and staff — and to anyone who sends us a message, uploads a document, posts a vacancy or uses "Report a problem". It forms part of the Website terms of use, the Learner agreement (terms and conditions) and the Employer terms of business.

You must

  • give accurate, honest information — including on applications, funding evidence, job profiles and vacancies;
  • keep your sign-in details to yourself and use only your own account;
  • use candidate or learner information only for the purpose it was shared for (for employers: recruiting for the vacancy the candidate applied to);
  • treat learners, employers and staff with respect in every message;
  • report anything that worries you about someone's safety to our safeguarding team (Safeguarding policy).

You must not

  • upload anything you do not have the right to share, anything false or altered (for example an edited licence, medical or benefit document), or any file containing malware;
  • post or send content that is unlawful, discriminatory, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, or that promotes violence, terrorism or extremism;
  • advertise a vacancy that is not a genuine, lawful job, that misstates pay, hours, location, duties, licence or Driver CPC requirements or safety risks, or that discriminates unlawfully (for example by age, sex, race, religion or disability) — see the Employer terms of business;
  • ask a work-seeker for a fee, deposit or payment of any kind for finding them work;
  • contact candidates outside the platform for any purpose other than the vacancy they applied to, or add them to marketing lists;
  • try to access records, accounts or areas you are not permitted to see, probe or scan the platform (outside our Vulnerability disclosure policy), overload it, or scrape it;
  • share assessment questions or answers, sit an assessment for someone else, or help anyone cheat;
  • use the platform to offer or ask for any inducement to enrol, or to create or alter evidence for a funding claim (Anti-bribery and anti-fraud policy);
  • include other people's personal details in a problem report or feedback beyond what is needed to describe the problem.

Uploads

Only upload the documents we ask for, in the accepted formats. Uploaded files are checked, stored privately and opened only by authorised staff. Do not upload health information unless we ask for it — it is restricted data and handled separately.

Messages and problem reports

Messages and reports are business records. Staff may read them to provide the service, investigate a concern or respond to a complaint. Problem reports go only to our platform administrators.

What happens if this policy is broken

We may remove content, reject a vacancy or document, suspend or close an account, stop introductions, or end a learner agreement or employer terms in line with those documents. We record what we did and why. Where the law requires it — or to protect someone from harm — we may report the matter to the police, the funding body, the Fair Work Agency or another authority. You can challenge a decision through our Complaints policy and procedure.

Reporting a breach

Tell us at [to be confirmed: general enquiries email address], use "Report a problem" at the foot of any page, or for a safety concern contact our safeguarding team at [to be confirmed: safeguarding contact email address].
