Who this notice is for

Learners and former learners who use our jobs service to find work with employers. We act as an employment agency for permanent roles; we never charge you for finding work (Work-seeker terms).

Your job profile

Your profile can include a headline, a summary, licence categories (held and provisional), Driver CPC, experience, availability and start date, preferred regions and shifts, and how far you will travel. You decide whether to share your summary, your contact details and your certificate number — each is a separate tick box.

Who can see it

  • Employers you apply to see only the consent-filtered view: your name, postcode area, headline, licence, Driver CPC, availability, experience and preferences, plus the summary, contact details and certificate number only if you ticked them.
  • Discoverable profiles: if you tick "discoverable", verified employers can find your profile when searching for drivers.
  • Changing Lanes staff can see your profile to support your job search.
  • Employers never see your funding, benefit, medical, safeguarding, assessment, attendance or internal notes.

We share your profile with employers on the basis of your consent, recorded with the version of the statement you agreed to and the date. You also agree, each time you apply, to that employer seeing your profile. You can hide your profile, withdraw an application or withdraw consent at any time in the portal; employers then lose access through the platform. Anything an employer has already received for a recruitment decision is its own responsibility as a separate controller (Employer data sharing agreement).

Matching

The platform suggests vacancies and candidates using explainable rules on the information in your profile — licence, Driver CPC, region, availability, experience and shift. Every match score shows its reasons. It never uses protected characteristics such as age, sex, race, religion or disability. Employers and staff decide who to interview and hire; the score is not a decision.

Interviews, offers and placements

We record interview requests and outcomes, offers and your responses, your start date and whether you are still in the role at 13 weeks, and the check-ins we make at weeks 1, 4 and 12 (including your answers to our short check-in survey). We use this to support you, confirm outcomes to employers and, for a funded place, to evidence the outcome the funding body pays for.

How long

Job profiles and placement records form part of your learner record (funding year plus six years); survey answers are kept for 24 months. See Data retention schedule. Contact our Data Protection Lead ([to be confirmed: Data Protection Lead (name or role holder)]) at [to be confirmed: privacy and data protection email address] or write to [to be confirmed: postal address for letters and rights requests].
